Job description: 

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that UNESCO is seeking applications for the post of Assistant Programme Specialist on HIV & AIDS and Education (P-2 ALD) in the Section for HIV and AIDS (ED/UNP/HIV) at UNESCO Headquarters (Paris, France).

The post reports directly to the Chief of Section under the overall supervision of the Director, Division for the Coordination of UN Priorities in Education and UNESCO Global Coordinator for HIV and AIDS. The post includes significant participation in proposal development and fundraising, budgeting, planning and monitoring across the Section and increasing support for country colleagues in these areas. 

The post provides key support to the UNAIDS Unified Budget and Workplan (UBW) process and execution and also has primary responsibility for coordinating UNESCO's participation in the AIDS Strategy and Action Plan (ASAP) service of UNAIDS, led by the World Bank.

The post is an Appointment of Limited Duration (ALD) with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The appointment is for an initial period of one year and may be extended for up to three years, with the possibility of extension exceptionally for a fourth and final year. The salary is in accordance with UNESCO scales and includes a post adjustment.
